Real estate buyers interested in purchasing a home, condo or land in Los Cabos often find financing the purchase to be a challenge. Since the U.S. banking collapse in 2008 there currently are few if any U.S.mortgage financing companies in play. Real estate sellers are aware of the hurdles buyers must navigate to make a purchase in Mexico. Sometimes those hurdles end up causing a real estate transaction to fall apart – and smart sellers are stepping up to the plate by offering Seller Financing, or as many in the U.S. and Canada real estate markets know as "Owner will Carry" transactions.
The popularity of these types of financing options is growing and as of July 2018 about 20% of available properties for sale in Cabo have some level of owner/seller financing offered.
